Not everyone is from a liberal supporting family. Maybe he has no place to go and is worried they will force him out, or will think badly of him, living with people who think badly of you does not sound like fun.

I never implied they are which is why I asked.

And my second sentence was completely correct, it is OP who has to live with their decision and not their parents. As such it is up to them to weigh up what risks and sacrifices they are willing to take to do what they want. I understand it can be harder for some people and it can certainly make things difficult, but in the end it is their life and they have to decide between making their family happy or they themselves being happy.
Hey guys! This is the perfect place for this questionnaire, I would like to analyse how socialisation has affected your outlook and experiences at university!
Thank you so much for viewing this post, If you could take 10 minutes to help me by filling out this questionnaire it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

This questionnaire is all about socialisation at university and whether or not it is linked to an individual’s identity. The aim is to identify any potential differences within socialisation patterns between students of different cultures. The three classifications of student are Home (from the U.K), European (anywhere within Europe) and International (any country outside of the other two classifications). Thank you for being a part of this research.
