Coding Theory: Is Mod 2 used in self-dual linear codes?

Hi there

I am struggling to find many examples of self-dual linear codes. Some I have come across only seem to have orthogonal rows when taking Mod 2 of them, my lecture notes for this are pretty much non-existent, so any help given would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Jackie

Yes, there are more than F2\mathbb{F}_2 codes! I suggest you take a look at this survey article and/or this set of lecture slides (both pdfs) for examples.
