Is anyone doing this exam in June 2016. If so, what are your ideas about this and how do you feel about doing an exam based on this case study?

Hey, I'm doing this exam too! I'm not entirely confident yet, but our teacher is working through an analysis of the case study from Tutor2U which is really helpful

Hi I'm doing this exam also! It's taken me a few days to get into the case study, but i started a new tutor today and hopefully this will help loads! My class have been mainly focusing on their 4 objectives right now, what about yours? Ive started ratios in class today which i think ill struggle with but hopefully they won't be too bad! I'd love to know how u guys are getting on with it! :h:
Hi how would everyone answer the question of 'Evaluate possible ways in which VGL can meet its objectives for the 2017 financial year.'
Yeah I think there will be a question on that too... We have been studying it for a while now and we are just going through an analysis we bought - it goes through each of the ratios and what they mean  so super useful!! lol, have you tried memorising some of the answers to the ratios? Then you will know roughly what answer you might need in the exam so you can check if you've done it right

It says in the first paragraph of the case study:

"Its customer base ranges from local authority general household "bin" collections through to specialist industrial waste solutions."

They have two different revenue streams:
Collecting materials - Council and business customer
Selling processed materials - National and international markets

Hope that helps!

Hi guys, I'm also sitting the exam on the 14th, I'm totally not prepared and focused on my other exams instead, can anyone save me and send me any essays questions they've answered from the apt back and other predicted questions, I don't even have the apt pack to start with, I know you all have revision to do and it may take some of your time, but this is literally the difference between me going to uni and not :frown: can anyone be a life saver and send me as many essays you've Answered in this as well as the ratios, thank you in advance

This is a basic generic plan for all the essays :

From the outset, think of four main points that you will be discussing as this will guide you so you'll be less likely to drift off topic.

Intro- Define any key terms in the questions or briefly explain what factors you will be discussing in the main bulk of your essay.

Paragraph 1, 2, and 3 - One point or factor per paragraph developed to L3
Also try to end each paragraph with a L4 comment

Paragraph 4 - Conclusion, ''Overall'' The most important factor or the factor that will have the most impact. ''Ultimately success will depend on'' . Take it through to a strong L4.

Hope this helps
