University of Exeter rejection?

An email said from Exeter that I have not been accepted onto their main campus due to a high demand for the history degree I have applied for however they have offered me a place on their Penryn campus in Cornwall.

However, I've applied with a deferred entry, so why does the fact that it's a high demand this year mean I can't be offered a place when I'm starting next year?

They have either made a mistake or are not telling you the truth. Exeter frequently use Penryn as a 'dumping ground' for applicants they don't think are quite good enough for the Streatham course or when the latter is full up.

Phone them to ask why they have made this illogical decision.
