Redox equilibria dry/alkaline cells question?

Hi can anyone help me with this question. It's confusing me

Why is an alkaline cell in continuous use more efficient than a dry cell?

Thanks so much
Because it lasts longer as perhaps the reaction is slow. Also, no waste gases as H2 is produced which will reduce the efficiency of the carbon terminal if manganese(IV)oxide is not used
