Anyone Doing An Art Degree?

Just wanted to know who is doing a degree in art. Just curious to know how popular they are and whether anyone on here studies art. A lot of people seem to study moe academic subjects.

I'm currently in year 10 and I know its early to start considering universitys. But... I just wondered what should I aim for: a degree in art or psychology?

I take it you mean Fine Art or similar?

Theres a subforum for people taking Creative Arts at Univ, you should give it a look.
You've got to aim for what you think you'll most likely want to do when you're finished with education and looking for a career.

Which would you want to do more?

There's so much more to art degrees than just fine art, you can do graphic design, animation, illustration, typography, architecture, film, tv, 3D, there's so many specialisms. But with art the courses are competitive and you've got to be good to make it in the job market after uni.

You've got ages to decide anyway, I'm in year 13 and people in my year were deciding early this year.

I'm going to uni in October to study Fine Art and I'm still having second thoughts about whether I should be doing Art or Psychology. :s-smilie:

I'm doing Graphic Design, and most of my A Level Graphic Design class are going on to do Visual Communication or Graphic Design degrees, or art foundation years
I wouldn't worry about it too much as you have ages to decide, but if you're not sure at the end of Year 13 then you could do an Art Foundation Course. Most unis require you to do a Foundation Course to study Fine Art anyway.

I'm going to do an art foundation at BNU in september. sooo excited ;D
But yeah, do what you love to do. At your age you probably dont really know, I only made up my mind to definitely do Art about a year ago, although it has always been my love throughout my childhood.
And if you want to do pursue Art come Year 12/13, I suggest you do an Art Foundation. (Yeah its another year in education but if you truly love your art you'll be raring to go) In the foundation course you can make up your mind in which area of Art to go into, you truly find your niche.
