Southampton PhD Astronomy Group

I have been shortlisted and have an interview next Thursday at the University of Southampton. Was just wondering if anyone else had been too, or has been there for an interview in the past and knew the format or how formal/informal it would be.

If you email the Uni they may give you some info about the format, ie. 30 min interview followed by tour of Dept' or whatever.

PhD interviews tend not to be overtly 'formal' and more like a discussion between people interested in the same academic stuff rather than like a job interview.

They just said the interviews would take place all day and we would have the opportunity to have an interview with each academic offering a PhD project. And that there would be a lunch.I am pretty nervous now as it is tomorrow. I have read my masters project and also read loads of papers that are relevant to the PhD... so I guess I just have to wait and see how it goes now!
