Cardiff Uni Accommodation

Is Cardiff university accommodation on a first come/first serve basis? I understand that if you apply by the deadline you are guaranteed a place in halls for first year but are you less likely to get your preference if you are not very quick in applying? How does it work? Thank you!
I was told it's on a F.C.F.S basis, and that it was best to apply for the accommodation as soon as possible, especially if you're on a health related course and applying for Liberty House, which I am. They said it all gets allocated in July, after your place has been confirmed :smile:
