An abstract is like the back cover of a book or a synopsis of an article. It outlines the main points covered and the main findings eg (THIS IS NOT A REAL ONE!)

Aids has become increasingly prevalent in Africa and, whilst the rate of infection and morbidity varies from country to country, all areas are affected. This report investigates the spread and current impact of the disease firstly on a continental scale and subsequently at national and local scales with close reference to both South Africa, Malawi and Nigeria. It is clear that impacts vary according to a range of factors including standard of living as measured by GNP per capita as well as quality of Health care provision and Education. The report concludes by examining Malawi where some amelioration of the impact of the disease has been noted and its solutions are applied to other parts of the problem of Aids in Africa.
