I know its probably not the same exam board as yours but this disc is pretty helpful for any basic knowledge of computing. (exam board is WJEC)

dry run = running the code through in your head to see how the variables change - it's what you're doing when you do trace table type questions.

2 reasons an HCI needs to be well designed? Probably all a bit vague, but so the user can use it efficiently/speedily/without errors/without needing to spend a lot of time learning it.
