The maintenance of the body's internal balance
if something on the outside changes
your body on the inside does something
to keep your internal conditions constant
so say it gets cold outside
to keep your internal temperature the same your body shivers
if it gets hot outside
to stop you from overheating and keep your core temperature the same your body sweats
