About August if you got conditional offer and about July if you got unconditional offer. Also it depends on the uni but of them will open about those times.

Which halls are you in? Are the John Foster houses nice? (Not the pavilions). Are they detached "socially" from the other halls? How annoying is the distance between oadby and the uni? Did/do you like living there? Sorry for all the questions!

Don't be sorry about the questions, I'm happy to help!
I'm in GMS, Bowder court.
The John Foster accommodation is great and seems to be the most desirable in the student village, it is about the same price as mine (joint most expensive I believe) but people say the kitchens in Bowder court are much nice than JoFo. JoFo is not at all socially detached, the whole place is linked and we have parties with people from all over the place quite a lot if I'm honest. It is kind of annoying having to get the bus every day to get to lectures but Oadby is a lovely place to live and is quite refreshing compared to city living. I do like living here, the RAs put on events everyday and the village hub is probably the best part of the student village, extremely cheap drinks, pool table and big screen TV, what more can you ask for?!

I hope this answers your questions and please don't hesitate to ask more

Thank you! But I don't mean the main part of JoFo! Unfortunately my loan doesn't cover those prices. I mean the separate houses that are a part of JoFo (howard, spinneys and treroose)! Nobody seems to have heard of them, so I hope they're nice

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realise! I don't actually know anyone staying in those houses but I'm sure it is as sociable as the rest of JoFo.

Bowder is great, the only downside is the price and the radiators aren't the most functional in the world but you get used to them. It's incredibly sociable here, When I got here on moving in weekend, our whole block had several parties together so we could get to know each other so the social side of Bowder is really up there. The kitchens are also known to be the nicest in the whole of Oadby (people in John Foster get very jealous).

Hi! I've been allocated Stamford Houses (not the halls it's the converted houses) but I have never seen the inside of one or any photos:/ any ideas about what I can expect? Thanks!
