Research and Rationale vs Biological explanation?

Im working on my bio a2 coursework for edexcel and Im really struggling and not repeating myself in the research and rational and biological explanation.
Im doing it on how soil moisture affects height of plants.
What's the difference, my teacher told me I need to explain why plants need water and the science behind it in the research and rationale, but arent i supposed to do that in the biological explanation section?
