Hi in currently working my way through k a strouds foundation maths and im struggling on a particular question that has the steps shown but no explanation.
y+x/8x - y-x/4x
The final answer in the book comes to.
3/8 - y/8x
Can someone please explain the steps as im so confused an my maths aint great thanks!

Its under expanding the brackets, introduction to algebra, i think its simplfying
