one escalator has the power of 4000W = 4kW

The hours in the 6 day week are: 8x6 = 48hours in the week

One escalator uses 4kw for 48 hours, so: 4 x 48 = 192kw of power in 48 hours = 192kwh

1kwh = 15 pence

192kwh = 15 x 192 =2880 pence
