Does anyone know why the eruption to form the Yellowstone caldera was so explosive?

Why is it not like other hotspots such as Hawaii where the magma is relatively unexplosive and low in viscosity?

hi i dont know if this will help but there is a website called Ace Geography which mentions lots of case studies - it might explain it there
