Year 12 work experience in finance

What opportunities are there for year 12 work experience in the fields of accounting, consulting, banking or other financial careers? Honestly, I was too late to apply to all the Big4 schemes so I literally have no work experience on my CV. What can I do?

Yeah I'm in the same position- I can't apply to any of the big4 work experience schemes because they are all during end of June-July, when I have school (my school forces you to go to school even after a level exams). It's kinda annoying, but I think I'll just have to improve my extra curricular a to substitute for a lack of experience.

Call up/email local or small accounting firms in your area and ask them if they have any kind of work experience available. Inevitably most will probably have nothing but if you ask enough of them one might have something for you, even if non of the work is all that relevant it's better than nothing.
