V945 - Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Act 2002 (Repeal) Bill, TSR UKIP
Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Act 2002 (Repeal) Bill

Repeal the Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Act 2002
BE IT ENACTED by The Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

    1 Repeal
The Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Act 2002 shall be repealed in its entirety.

    2 Commencement & Short Title
    (1) This Act may be cited as the Repeal of the Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Act 2002.
    (2) This act will come into effect immediately upon passing.

For too long politics has had the impression of us making one rule for the ordinary people and one rule for ourselves. This bill removes the loopholes that allow political parties to use sex discrimination when appointing candidates to stand at elections; sex should not be a barrier to success so political parties should not use it to define their candidates.

Even if it really does only change things in NI, better than nothing.

yeah sure whatever, this is kinda like that air traffic control bill from last term, seems fine but it's irrelevant enough that I don't give a ****
