Is this true or false? Tick the correct answer

When *I* subtract an odd number from an odd number the parity of the result can be rather surprising...

Official answer says "False. An odd number subtracted from another odd number will always given an even number, e.g. 17-5=12" so Yes.
That's barely an answer at all; it asserts but does not prove.
