I am currently a first year student at UWE doing computer science. I am worried about my exams and getting into the second year. I don't just want to pass because I want to do a placement year but is 40% of a module all I would need to get into the second year?

    Thanks a worried student

Yes, usually you need 40% to pass a module but sometimes if it is not considered a core module then they will allow you a tolerated failure. In this case they will allow you to progress to the next year if you scored 30% or more. You can probably access your student handbook online and check, otherwise you should ask your personal tutor for more info.
