Chemical Engineering - Aston University Or Swansea University

I need an Insurance / advice on picking between Aston and Swansea for Chem Eng, also which would people recommend as an insurance if i'm looking at minimum BBC/BBB, since both look appealing but my offer for Aston is BBB and Swansea is ABB (although i was expecting BBB). How lenient do you think Swansea Uni / Aston Uni are? Any advice would be great

Hello Mo Tayee,
Thank you for your message and for considering Swansea University as one of your options. I would recommend contacting our College of Engineering to ask about their admissions process and entry requirements - their email address is [email protected]
Do you have any other questions about Swansea University which I can help you with?

Hi, thanks for your reply
I do have a question: As I live quite far away (Yorkshire) from Swansea, if I was to insure Swansea how would accommodation work, are insurance holders guaranteed a place or? What's the regulations on that, Also what's the average cost like for living at Swansea?

Hi Mo Tayee,

Thanks for your message - to answer your questions - students who hold a firm offer to study at Swansea University and have made an accommodation application by 30th June will be allocated first.

Insurance students should also make their accommodation applications as early as possible to increase their chances of securing a place in university residences. All students can make an accommodation application as soon as they have their 6 digit student number.

Residence fees for 2016/17 can be found here: http://www.swansea.ac.uk/accommodation/residences/residencefees2016/

Hi,
How far away is the new bay campus from the main uni and what do engineering students do about second year accommodation? Are there houses nearby as it's allocated on a beach?
As I heard it's quite far out from everything but i'm not too sure whether this is correct?
(sorry for all the questions, struggling on uni choices)

Hi Mo Tayee,
Thank you for your message - both the Bay Campus and Singleton Park Campus are about a 10 minute bus journey either side of the city centre. It takes about 20-25 minutes to travel between the two campuses by bus. Student Accommodation Services (SAS) can help students find accommodation after their first year and they manage properties in the popular student areas of Brynmill, Uplands and Sketty (nearer Singleton Park Campus) and Port Tennant and St Thomas (nearer the Bay Campus).
You can find out more on the SAS website here - http://www.swansea.ac.uk/accommodation/saslettings/
I hope this helps - please let me know if you have any other questions!
