Questions from specimen papers

Hi everyone!

I'm doing the new AQA AS psychology spec therefore past papers from previous years will not be suitable.
There are a set of specimen papers available, I was wondering if these specimen papers will give an accurate indication of the type of questions that may be provided in the examination.
I've heard that specimen papers contain questions that are "not suitable for the examination"

Will the questions provided give a hint of topics that may not come up in the exam?
Is it useful to use specimen papers as part of my revision?

Thank you

using specimen papers as your revision is a must, since its the only "close enough" paper we have to the new specification
Obviously the questions will be different, but the style and type of question will be the same.

In this thread there is a revision checklist attached and a link to a Psychology study blog.

Thank you for your response!
I'll be going through the psychology specimen papers as part of my revision and the psychology blog was a great help! Especially for A03.
