Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016
1. What is the minimum i need in AS maths and AS Further maths for overall A* i dont understand the requirements to an A*
2. The requirement for an A* in Maths:
-atleast an A overall (i.e. 480/600 UMS)
-an average of at least 180/200 in C3 and C4

The requirement for an A* in Further Maths:
-atleast an A overall (i.e. 480/600 UMS)
-an average of at least 270/300 in A2 Further Maths
3. You can't get an A* at AS. In my school you need at least 90% to be predicted an A* for A2. For Maths at A2 you have to get an average of 90% UMS in C3 and C4. So you need 180 UMS out of 200 in these two units AND you need to get an 80% average over the whole ALevel ie to be safe you want to get an A at AS

So for maths at AS i can achieve a B and still achieve A* overall?

Technically it's possible. But that would mean you run the risk of ending up with a B instead of an A if you miss the A*
6. shite that sounds hard

So if you get A in C1 A in C2 and B in S1 (overall AS A) then you miss out on A* ?
as you need an A across all modules?

It's not that you need an A in each module. You need an A average across all module.

Say you got 91/100 C1, 89/100 C2, 70/100 S1. That = 250/300 UMS at AS. So then you need 180/200 in C3/4 and then enough in the sixth module to give you 480/600 UMS total

No. You could do this for example:

C1 - 90
C2 - 90
C3 - 90
C4 - 90
M1 - 60
S1 - 60

And that would still get you an A*.

But from what I've seen on here, you're a natural maths genius

Ok
So barring the 180/200 for C3/4
the other 4 modules can split the remaining 300 UMS

Yes as long as you get 300 UMS
