I have not studied Economics at A2 level, will I be at a disadvantage because this is an economics degree. Moreover, does economics carry more weight in the degree or is it equalised with Accounting as well. Also if i do not reach the required ABB, what are the likely chances of the university accepting me.

Hello, I would not advise you to choose this course. It used to have about 65 places and only about 20 graduated, therefore a very high dropout and failure rate. Out of the entire department, at least 200 students have at least one resit for the summer, so again a very high number of people failing at least one module. Now this course has increased its places from 65 to about 120 so they make sure more people graduate, since obviously 20 is a very low number.
I recommend you choose either Cass Business School (but be prepared to study 24/7) or UCL or any other University for Economics. It's not what it seems, it's not what they are trying to sell you. feel free to google this course so you get an idea.

the other problem with it is the organisation. Lecturers take forever to reply, some never even bother (especially Cass ones, since you are not an actual Cass student, but a City one). you do 2/3 Economics and 1/3 Accounting with a very odd mixture of subjects. Students are competitive on this course so expect no help or group study opportunities. The videos they are promoting on Youtube are all rainbows and sunshine, uhm, but this Department DOES actually work like a factory and the large numbers of students make it this way. You can find around 2 Lecturers out of 10 who will make a difference and go our of their way to excel at their job. You'd be surprised at the grammar mistakes some make in their slides (most likely they do not care)
