Hi, sorry if I've posted this in wrong section but an't quite sure where to put it.
I recently applied for work experience last week at a small boutique bank through there work experience programme on there website, and after I have finished my form, I got an email saying "thank you for applying for work exp.(internal referrals)". Does this mean I need to know someone who works there to get work exp., even though this programme is freely up on there website. It did ask for a name of employer earlier in form, but I just said I didn't know anyone who works there.
Applied for work experience-"internal refferals only"

Without knowing the company and seeing the advert, I can't be sure, but it sounds as if you have to have a current employee put your name forward for the scheme. I think you should keep quiet at the moment and see if you get taken forward. If not, ie you get a rejection, then contact them and ask if this was the case, and if they say yes, then ask how you can get someone to sponsor you, because they are missing out on talent.
I will PM you the ad.
