Hi I'm thinking of going to my GP about depression and want to make teachers at school aware well some of them. Can a GP call a teacher?. Let me know ASAP

Up to them. Just ask. Maybe they would just write you a note as they are busy. Ask though.

depends on severity of depression tbh. also teachers generally arent that well prepared for depression (unless they receive training). the way it is is that you will be assessed via a questionnaire at your GP surgery. depending on the results of that, they would compare it to DSM-V or ICD-10 diagnostic criteria to assess the severity of depression. assuming you are under 18, that would mean either being referred to counselors or to see a psychiatric for further assessment (or the GP may just prescribe fluoxetine 20mg on the sport - but this is something they shouldnt really do). regarding your teachers, the surgery may contact your school (not an individual teacher) and the school records would show you suffer from depression. how the teacher copes depends on the teacher themselves (hopefully this was helpful to some degree)

I feel like I need to go out of lessons at school for a few mins for a breather. Do you think the doctor could give me a note to show my teachers

Your doctor can write you a signed letter detailing your condition. Hope you feel better.
