For edexcel they take the highest of your marks for each unit automatically so I assume AQA do the same. Contact them/check their website if you're unsure or ask your school/college for advice.

On the AQA Results slip, they list all marks and grades for previous modules that you have completed in the past, and the highest mark automatically counts.

As far as I’m aware, it’s the same with all exam boards in that they always (automatically) take the highest mark achieved – regardless of whether it was taken first or last.

I know there used to be a rule where you could only retake each module once, but this was removed a few years ago - 2004 I think it was, so modules can now be resat an unlimited number of times until the qualification changes or there is a change in an aspect of the course, such as set texts in English
