Legal Experience with no current legal qualifications

Hello all, I am looking to start a GDL course in September and have read of the importance of having extra curricular legal experience when applying for training contracts etc. As I don't have any legal qualifications at present I am scratching my head about the best way to sell myself/acquire a volunteering position, and wondering if its actually possible at this point. Does anyone have any experience with similar circumstances and if so could you provide any advice? Would be much appreciated, thank you.
Look in the Legal careers forum, there is a ton of advice and information there (use the search function under tools to find specific information). I read a post yesterday where someone recounted their experience of applying for a training contract; they were successful even though they had no legal experience so there's hope for you too.

I know lots of people who did non-law undergraduate degrees and ended up with a VS and/or TC. Try and attend law fairs and firm open days. Look out for city events that feature a lot of firms also. If you can write coherently about why you want to practice law and at the specific firm you're applying for a lack of legal experience won't count against you.
