Why bother with a post grad? Are they even worth it? Have your say! 26-10-2016

That's the probability of him losing all 3 games, you needed to minus the probability of losing just one game and two games and the various combinations
Do you know how many marks that question was worth?
2. (Original post by reoshinwho)
Given previous years, probably around 61/62 so ~75%
3. how did you do the question about the team exactly doing 2 of winning, drawing or losing?
4. Do you think 4.15 will get full marks for the IQR? (I found the 5.25th value for the lower quartile and 15.75th value for the upper quartile)
5. 1i) median 29, IQR 4 ( Q3 was 37.8, Q1 was 27.8)
ii) no outliers
2i) 0.992
ii) 0.16
iii) 0.66
3i) 120
ii) 0.0167
iii) 0.0167
iv) 0.1
4i) show k=1.2
ii) E(X)= 2.74, Var(X)=1.232
5i) 0.21
ii) Venn diagram w/ 0.21 in middle 0.07 for R and 0.66 for S then 0.06 outside
iii) 0.24
6i) mean= £70.19, sd= 36.somthing
ii) don't know
iii) histogram
iv) +ve
v) don't know
vi) mens cheaper on average but more variation (owtte)
7iA) 0.142
iB) don't know
iC) 1.6
ii) H0: p=0.1, H1 p<0.1
iiiA) 0.1216>12%
iiiB) n=13
iv) 0.0530>5% so no sufficient evidence to reject H0

Seems that IQR questions are very inconsistent but I ended up with IQR=4 LQ=27.8 UQ=31.8 after crossing out 4.15
That's what I got forgot the range of data lol. Knew I got 4 iqr

Not sure but markscheme will likely allow 4.15 imo
8. For question 5) could you have worked out P(R and S) by doing P(R) X P(S) ?

That's what I did! I don't know but in the previous mark schemes there have been a range allowed for the IQR, so maybe!

Isn't 7c)iv) significant because it's less than 10%?
can't remember the exact questions of Q7. the first time it asked to compare to significance level for n is 20, 0 results is still greater than 10%. (k was 13, being the min significance level to reject H0) . In the very last question, less than or equal to 2 people with pin 1234 was 5.3% > 5% therefore don't reject H0.

That's what I did, not sure if it's correct tho, everyone is saying its 4
12. WTF that was the S1 hardest paper I've done out of all the past papers! Hopefully the grade boundaries are low.

2i) was 0.8^3 so 0.512
14. S1 went really well!
15. *hopefully* low boundaries

So when people did the quartile a for q1 what did you get, everyone seems to have a different answer?
Graphical calculator says 4 for IQR so I say 4
17. (Original post by Olivia197)
Do you know how many marks that question was worth?
Think it was only 1 mark
18. Surely for the last question it gave us the probability that X=2 and that was less than 5%?
19. I got 4 for the iqr but not sure method was right, added the 5th and 6th term then divided by 2 to get 27.8. Added the 15th and the 16th then divided by 2 to get 31.8 so the iqr is 4. Is that right method for working out 5.25th term and 15.75th term? Only question that I'm slightly worried about

For a hypothesis test you use the P(X is less than or equal to 2) not P(X=2)
