IBM Apprenticeship Matching Process

Hi Guys,

I applied for the IBM Technical Specialist Apprenticeship and have got through to the matching process stage 10/3/16. I was just wondering if you knew what the time scale was for getting a business interview and what the likelihood of getting an interview, as i understand from the email it is not guaranteed.

Thanks in advance

Hey,I applied for the Business Specialist role and passed my assessment centre on 02/2/16 and I've still heard nothing back apart from an automated email saying they hadn't forgotten me and were still matching me to a role.. So you're not alone haha. I have an older friend who is currently in the Technical Specialist Apprenticeship scheme and started 2 years ago. From talking to him, he passed his assessment centre then got a business interview 2 weeks later when he went through the scheme... But the graduates at my assessment centre said it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 5 months so.. He also said that IBM aren't recruiting as many apprentices this year due to different lines not taking apprentices or something like that. Sorry if this disheartens you/isn't true, it's just what I've been told from a current IBM apprentice! But I guess all we can do is hold on and hope that business interview comes soon! good luck!

Hey,

Have you heard anything yet? I got the email saying there was a current job freeze. I'm desperate to work for IBM, but now not sure if this job will happen.

Just the generic email, but within it it talked about the job freeze. Please let this wait be over soon.
Hi there all!

Thank you for your comments. We just wanted to help clarify these topics you are discussing.

After passing an Assessment Centre (AC) your CV, AC Feedback and Role/Base Location Preferences are added onto a central database within IBM, which all of our Hiring Managers (with roles all over the UK) have access to. On the database, they will review applicant details for suitability to their role(s). If and when we hear from a manager that they would like to Interview a candidate, we will be in touch to arrange this. As a result of this process, we cannot specify a timescale on this, as it differs for each candidate on a case-by-case basis but we do fully appreciate your patience throughout.

Please note, completing the Assessment Centre is not a guarantee that we have a suitable position available for you nor it is a guarantee the business will wish to proceed with your application. Additionally, it is not a guarantee that we will offer you a position unless you successfully complete a Business Interview. Please note, you need to take this final stage in the process seriously, by preparing for subsequent Interviews.

There have been some references to various hiring restrictions - this has not been communicated from our Recruitment Team. Please do share with us at [email protected] the information you have received and the source of this, so we can ensure that you have the correct information and we can prevent incorrect information being shared.

Thank you!
IBM Recruitment Team
