At University , is the course Maths , more male or female dominated?

Male, and by quite a margin often.
In Warwick where I am it is something like 18% female

More male, around 70% of my course were male

That presupposes mathematicians are only interested in other mathematicians though....it is entirely possible to speak to socialise with and sleep with people who aren't on your course?

So you just want to know what to expect? I think the gender mix at Open Days in Maths Departments is pretty similar to that on the course - and definitely predominantly male.

At my uni (Newcastle), it's like 50/50. So not all unis are male-dominated. :smile:

At Heriot Watt, maths is one of the more balanced subjects in terms of gender. Most year groups are between 50/50 and 60/40 (towards the male side) I'd say.
