How's the English for these sentences?

Is this all past tense? Also is a comma the correct use of punctuation here
A total of 160 newspaper articles were reviewed, with 116 of these articles acknowledging the referee.
Should I say: From or out of? Also respectively or each? Also should I get rid of the word 'nearly'?
From/Out of the 30 editorial pieces, nearly two thirds were from broadsheet newspapers (19 articles), split between The Times (11) and The Guardian (8). The remaining nearly one third were from tabloid newspapers (11 articles), split between The Sun (9) and The Mirror (10) respectively/each.
