Teacher Training Interviews

Hello all!

I am currently in the process of Teacher Training and have interviews to get onto SCITT or School Direct courses over the next couple of weeks. I am hoping to get onto a Design & Technology Course (specialising in textiles)

For the interviews I have to teach 10 minute lesson as well as individual interviews which is all fine. However for the interview section I am asked to bring in an artefact/photograph or object which is relevant to my subject and explain how I would enthuse the students of all ages with it.

I don't know whether it's because I am panicking but I cannot think of anything to bring or what they are looking for in this aspect of the interview.
Would something I made myself through studies be odd?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thank you

Katie

Congrats on your interview. What about a patchwork rug or something? So you can say i's made up of different materials/colours and can be different shapes/sizes but you are the one who shows them how to piece it all together. Something like that?

That's tricky!

Thank you! Have so much to organise before them but getting there!

That's a good idea, I was thinking of doing something similar but with a knitted jumper! Just because i specialise in knitted textiles, but a patchwork quilt would be much more versatile I think. It's difficult to know what they want, wether it needs to be something they would do in class or not.
