I'm currently in my 2nd year on an undergraduate social work placement i've been doing well academically getting an overall 2:1 so far, doing fine on assignments etc. However i'm on day 30 out of a 70 day placement which i'm not doing so well on we had a meeting and discussed my options of whether i actually wanted to social work (now that i've thought about it probably not). They've given me 2 options
OPTION 1: Complete the remaining days of placement (which i'm pretty sure i can't do i'm not confident enough and can't do what they're expecting me to). Then transfer onto a different course in my 3rd year
OPTION 2: Drop out now in my second year so nothing for my 2nd year social work course would be counted towards anything. And then start on a 2nd year course in September.
What do you think I should do? I also have the NHS bursary which i received for my social work course i would need to pay that and i would have payed for my uni fees for my 2nd year so that'll put me into more of a debt ...?! confused please help any useful advice???
Also, i'm not sure what type of course they would allow me to transfer on would it have to be something related to social work? I was looking at Early years or maybe Childhood studies is that related to social work? Or would they not allow me onto that course?
To transfer courses or not?
