Well i put it as my third choice and applyed yesterday and most off the accom was full. Btw i tried selecting enchanced en suite and it was full. So I m guessing there will be a quite a large number of people headin down to St Peters court

I was at SPC last year and had an amazing time. I don't think SPC actually has any enhanced en suites so that might be why it said it was full. By the way noone goes by Block number..just what flat number you are. They arent technically blocks, its more of a continual block in a big L shape.

There are two sides..the old side and the new side. The new side is the side you see in the brochure. The old side looks very different to that. The bedrooms and kitchens are a lot bigger but its obviously not as new. If you're in Flat 1-43ish you are on the old side and then anything higher than that is the new side. I was on the old side and found that most of the people who went out regularly and socialised were on the old side, but that'll be different every year. I took some pics of my room and bathroom once i'd emptied it to remember it so i'll try upload them when I get the chance. If anyone has any questions i'd be happy to answer them
I am going to be there (hopefully)! I am an international student coming from Canada through the Exchange Programme. See you there!

I'm going there as well  ,
Already got my unconditional offer
is SPC mixed years? mixed sexes? just wonderin!

Yes, it is mixed I guess... I'm a new student, and I wouldn't want to be in a male-only/residence,

then it is mixed :-)
as far as i know flats are single sex unless you asked for smoking and apparently 10% of SPC is for people from trent but i think it's mainly undergraduates from nottingham living there
there are some mixed sex flats because people have phoned up to request but there aren't many and no one else is allowed to switch now i think because too many people have tried!

does any1 have pictures of the old block accomdation of spc pls??? take it flat 1 is in the old block??? would prefer new block!!! looks awsum!

I guess Flat 05 is in the old one too. But if it is as LisaPizza said that the old one seems to be the more sociable one then I'm happy to be there.
i think i'm in the old block too, but someone told me the rooms are bigger than the new block and that they're being refurbished for us so maybe it'll be better!

Has anyone else been allocated an enhanced ensuite room when they thought they had applied for a normal ensuite room? Maybe all rooms in the old building are "enhanced"? or is there a difference?
maybe the enhanced rooms have slightly bigger ensuites? they're more expensive aren't they? they were all sold out when i applied so i got the feeling there weren't that many of them and i'm in the old block too and have just a normal ensuite... why don't you email them and ask? it's unfair for them to make you pay for enhanced when that wasn't what you asked for!

Strange. I've sent them an e-mail asking them what's up. The normal ensuites are probably already taken up now anyways...

Right..the old blocks are set in an L shape, and then theres another block next to it, the "column" of rooms on the corner of the L, (so 4 rooms) are a LOT bigger than the other rooms. They have a mini sofa thing and a chair and generally a lot of extra space. So im guessing theyre enhanced on suite. But theres only 4 of them out of about 160, they are rooms 29B 30B 31B, 32B.

I have got a lot of pics of my room, with stuff in it and without but theyre on my boyfriends computer so when he gets on MSN i'll ask him to send them. I'd recommend you turn your bed round. Its hard to explain without a pic but if you turn your bed 90 degrees you get a lot more space out of your room. I'll admit, when I first saw my room I was a bit like oh..because I'd expected it to look like the pics in the brochure. If you're on the old side(flat 1-41), it wont.
But once I got my pics up, got my bed cover on and put stuff round the room I couldn't have been happier with it. You have a hell of a lot more space on the floor, I could easily sleep 3 friends on the floor, whereas new side you can get one person on the floor. I know my view is biased because I was old side, and if you talked to someone on new side I bet they would say how good it is.

On the new side, the rooms are newer, but they're also tiny. I felt like I was in a cabin on a ship when I was in the corridor. Also, the flat doors lock automatically, which some may say is a good thing but when you're having a flat party and people cant get in or out its not very good. Also, the kitchen/living area on the new side might have leather sofas but you fit about 6 people in them comfortably before it gets a bit crowded, whereas in our mahoosive (seriously huge) kitchens on the old side, we regularly had 20-30 people in and it was great! I think they put quite a few internationals over on the new side too, dont know if thats because theyre more likely to stick with them next year in they give them a nice flat.

I think I've written enough. But yeh..If I think of anything else I'll add it. And Ill add pics.
