Strathclyde or Glasgow for law?

Hi, I have 2 unconditional offers for law- at Glasgow and Strathclyde. Was just wondering which one would be the best option? Strathclyde is slightly easier to get to as I will be living a home. Thanks
Currently studying at Strathclyde , we have the Law Review, the Law Clinic (biggest and best in Scotland) and something else that that ive forgotten which makes it unique in the UK. The Law school is prestigious and accomplished , the academics are world class.. Professor Norrie , Aileen and chris to mention a few who are accalimed academics in their field - all of whom you will meet in your first year classes. Cant speak for Glasgow but the standard is extremely high at Strath. For example , Public law's average grade is a fail with 60% of students failing to achieve >40%. If you want a challenging and amazing experience I highy suggest Strathclyde.

Hi @Newcomer12,

Strathclyde is a great law school. The professors are really approachable and as @jameswilliam100 mentioned in his post, we have a law review and law clinic. There's also the law society committee that you can get involved in. I'd recommend applying for them all as they're a great way to gain practical skills while studying for the LLB. I'm in the final year of my LLB and have really enjoyed my time at Strathclyde.

If you have any other questions about the LLB or the uni itself then just let me know.

Hi ,

I actually had intended to respond to another student's post which I've done now. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the insight. I was really confused about which University to go for. I have heard about the law clinic and that gives you an idea of the practical experience. I have applied for LLM in Human Rights, can you tell me it would be beneficial for me ?

Hi @Lawfullylegal22,

Thanks for your message. It all depends, if you are wanting to specialise in human rights law then I would say definitely go for it! Students who go on to do the LLM want to specialise in a specific area. Alternatively, if you are wanting to practice as a Solicitor, I would apply for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP). I am graduating in June and planning to do the DPLP in September. Alternatively, some students do a Masters before doing the DPLP as they want to start work straight after the Diploma. Are you hoping to practice as a Solicitor or get your LLM to go down another route?
