My answer would have been

KE of trolley converts to KE of block.
KE of both block and trolley convert to strain energy of spring. Strain energy of spring converts to KE of block and trolley.
Some of it is also lost in heat during collision and air resistance.

THIS IS THE MARKING SCHEME GIVEN.(I HAVE UPLOADED THE PIC)
THEY HAVENT MENTIONED ABOUT HEAT LOSS DURIN COLLISION OR AIR RESISTANCE.



I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT MY MARKS WILL BE CUT FOR MENTIONING HEAT LOSS OR NOT. WILL I GET 2 OUT OF 2?

Don't fret. The Examiner cannot take away marks for adding addtional information. You wouldn't gain any either unfortunatly. But it's good to add that extra in case thats what the examiner wants.

BTW what exam + exam board is this. I know it's physics but is this GCSE?

It's AS Physics for sure, looks like a Unit 1 edexcel but could be wrong!
