As titlee says could someone recommend a laptop for under £1000 - main reason for buying is to use Ableton

What sort of tablet? Do you want something lightweight and portable? Small screen like an ultrabook? Larger 15 or 17 inch form factor? Will it be used for anything specific like gaming, programming or just writing essays?

I've got a Dell XPS 13. The entry level model is on the high end of that £1000 budget but it's a solid device. Nothing to write home about in terms of performance but it's pretty rugged while also being super lightweight and easy to move around. Perfect for when I'm at uni and need something to take out with me. If I were going to use it as my daily driver I'd want an XPS 15 though. Slightly better specs overall. But this is speaking as a PC gamer and IT student. For normal use the entry level XPS 13 is fine.

A Macbook is an option (although I can't honestly say I'd recommend one, being a Windows fan all the way).

Whatever you pick make sure it has decent specs and check reviews. If in doubt feel free to drop me a message, always happy to give an opinion.
