    Several themes in the anthology explore the intensity of human emotion. Explore this theme, referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your wider reading

    Both W.H.Auden’s ‘Funeral Blues’ and Christina Rossetti’s ‘Remember’ explore the intensity of grief and loss. However, the voice of ‘Funeral Blues’ deals with grief negatively, being the aftermath of his lover’s death. Through the voice’s act of deep mourning and lament, the impact of the beloved’s life is highlighted, perhaps suggesting how his energy and presence served as the only influx of positivity.
