is there a great difference , content wise ?

Obviously, yes. They have introduced multiple choice questions and you will have to know a lot about the exams, they will not be split into the different papers focusing on different modules. Both papers taken at AS will test your knowledge based on everything that you have learned.

Also because the new specs don't have coursework anymore, it means that there will be a lot more How science works questions in it than there was previously
