I think snobbery in regards to what people study is ridiculous and only highlights the obvious insecurities of the person criticising you for doing what you love. I'm a languages student, often I'm criticised for doing languages. But to me, it doesn't matter. I bloody love languages and I know that I'll enjoy studying them and using them in later life. If someone criticises you for doing what you love, nod and smile; then walk away.
The way I see it is every subject has importance, if something makes someone happy then why should you judge because it's not STEM? STEM is great, but the world can't all just be STEM...what would the world be like without the arts, literature, languages etc. We need everything! Everything is beautiful
Everyone bickers about what they study, not just STEM students. It's just another thing to joke around about. Also, I don't think most of the snobbery is to do with STEM subjects being hard (for me they're the easiest), but more the usefulness - there's not much an Anthropology degree will get you.

As a STEM student who struggled through a language at AS: I applaud you .
being told Art isn't a subject really grates me when the clothes on their back are designed by someone focused on Art, textiles and fashion? And the phone they have is designed by someone specialised in an Art based subject also? Even the bed they sleep in!
I do Humanities subjects at A Level, they aren't easy but I find on here, if you don't do STEM, you are a failure according to users on here. I feel so inferior.
