    Why not?
Yes but I'd speak to my friend first
Yes and I wouldn't speak to my friend

Not really Im happy to think all the things I mentioned are relevant. The point is they arent together any more and she is free to date whom she pleases. People move on. I would be respectful of my friend, but they are only one of the factors to consider.
It's not about her, it's about trust factors with my friends and not wanting sabotage around me. It's also about me and whether I should ever move in on a friend's ex.

You supposedly know your friend. Cant you predict his reaction? Did they end amicably or was it messy? You could talk to him about it. He might not care or he might care very much. You then have to weigh up the pros and cons,. I assume we are talking about a real life dilemma for you here? Its your choice. If it were me then I wouldnt rule things out and I would look at more than just that one factor.

Alrite then. I voted "yes but speak to them 1st" anyhow and it seems to be 2nd place to voting Never. I just wanted to know how taboo this generally is or isn't.

It'd be so awkward in the future if you wanted to bring your partner on nights out or whatever, but the breakup or tension made it uncomfortable. I wouldn't, even if my friend said it was ok I just would never feel comfortable going there.
