It wasn't too bad a paper overall. I used 4.18 for the specific heat capacity of water. Seems that is wrong from what you have all said here. The second half of the speed of sound question was gay, so i left that. And the last half of question 4. Reckon I got roughly 50%, so dunno whether passed or not.


The s.h.c. of water is 4200 J kg^-1 K^-1, or 4.2 J g^-1 K^-1 from chemistry (silly chemists have no care for base units!)

So if you used 4.2 and used grams, you will get the same answer.

I used 4184 JK-1kg-1 and got 1.75kg of water I think.

By the way, I think 50% is a pass (Merit) and 70% is Distinction. I think there's a slim chance I could get a Merit.

how many turbines did you say you needed to replace the power station? I got 18 i fink. I messed up the bloody graph question! messed up the points AND forgot my ruler, bit scruffy! doh! I really enjoyed the paper, but am sure ive failed. oh well, maths AEA to fail 2moro!
