Maths Ocr 2016 C1

Hi all
Has anyone got any pointers for the Ocr C1 May 18th paper?
Also is there any topics certain to come up

Ofcourse there isn't many topics- Polynomials and coordiante geometry always comes up
Make sure you know all the transformations of graphs, be confident with differentiation and expect circles to come up.

I think logs and trig identities come up on C2!
Circles also do not come up on C1, geometry of a circle is a topic on c2! The topics for C1 are;
Surds and Indices,
Quadratic functions, equations, graphs and transformations,
Coordinate geometry and straight lines,
Polynomials and the binomial expansion,
and Differentiation!

These are on my course and I'm doing WJEC.

Circles definitely come up in C1 for OCR anyway, make sure you get comfortable with coordinate geometry, transformation of graphs and don't forget to go over inequalities as they are easy marks to gain.

Well this is wrong. Circles are in C1, Polynomials and Binomial Expansion in C2. This is for OCR
62-65? That's hella high:s-smilie:.
The grade boundaries have been relatively generous the past few years, so hopefully they will stay that way! LOL

Relatively generous?!?!?! 65/72 last year for an A and 100 UMS was 72/72.

The grade boundaries are incredibly high for C1 and will always probably be since it is often the preferred retake module so when year 13s/ gap-year students retake it they expect to get 100%, hence bringing up the boundaries.

Yeah I agree that 62-65 is very high grade boundaries for an A... it's possible they'll be that high, but they have been down to 56-60 some years. Depends how hard the paper is

More than likely, they've came up in nearly every past paper I've looked at. Usually one of the last three questions!

The OCR website has grade boundaries from every year on its UMS converter :smile:

Yes look at the graphs topic in your textbook .
