I want to increase the amount of money I'm getting for my maintainance loan. Is it possible even though I have sent the application for the year already?

Next question is that: is it reasonable to borrow the maximum amount of money that I'm entitled to or get as little as possible. My reasoning is that if I borrow the £6000 that I have instead of the max I'm entitled to (~£8000) I still wouldn't be done repaying my loans after 30years. I would have actually repaid the SAME amount.

The £6000 I've got just barely covers my accommodation and nothing else.

(I would say sorry for English but I blame my weird way of writing on reading too many books past my age-group)

You have up to 9 months (about June time) to change the amount you want, after your course starts.
