Is completing two gcses in year 9 normal?
I go to a school where I study 2 gcse's for year 9. RE and a language (french). We started french coursework at year 8, is this normal?

Yes, a lot of schools start early. It's particularly common for people studying triple science so they don't have to do all three in the same 2 years.
