NCS - fun or disorganised?

    Hello everyone

So here I am, year 11 and preparing for exams, buying for prom and making summer plans.

Back in February, my friend from another school told me all about NCS and how she's doing it with her mates. It looked fun and something to entertain me for 4 weeks and a bit. I signed up that evening, got a phone call and got placed onto the programme alright.

Then my problems began to occur.

I live in one borough, county, whatever you wanna call it and go to a school in another one. My friend meanwhile goes to a school in my borough so when I initially signed up, I was on a different programme to her. As soon as I found this out, I rung up and changed, got lists of taster days in my preferred borough, went to one and thought it was all going perfectly. Apart from the fact that the taster day gave us no new information and repeated things we already new, it was a decent evening.

Then out of the blue, I began getting emails from the borough I didn't want to be in. I emailed back and asked why I was getting such emails and recieved a reply that not only frustrated me, but got me wondering what the hell happened. Turns out I was down for the borough I didn't want.

My mum sorted it all for me and got me switched back over. She demanded a confirmation email for this too so if it was ever changed, I had this as evidence. My friend managed to get mine and her accounts linked too, so I thought we were definitely safe.

Fast forward 3 weeks later to today, Im down for BOTH boroughs. UGHH. Now we have to make another annoying phone call to get this sorted again.

So, any other NCS hopefuls out there, or anyone from previous years who have had a similar experience, what have your tragic stories been if you have any? As much as im looking forward to the things I could do on it, I've begun to lose hope in this programme altogether.

It will all be worth it in the end
