C4 Vector question! Please help! (june 2015 aqa)

Could someone kindly help me out with part c) please?

The only thing from the mark scheme i seem to clearly understand how to get is OD.

I slightly understand how they got OE2, but I'm not exactly sure. Did they use OD as the position vector and then for the direction vector they got that from the line AC? I dunno if i'm making any sense...

Also I added the diagram i drew for part c), is it correct?

Your diagram is very well drawn.
You should be able to see that
OE=OD±AC \text{OE} = \text{OD} \pm \text{AC} , Since ∣DE∣=12∣AC∣ | \text{DE} | = \frac{1}{2} | \text{AC} | .
