Should I go to University?

    If this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it (I expect it is.)

    I'm currently in Y12, so I'm going to have to make a decision on if I should apply to a University within the few months. I'm not sure if I want to go to University, for several reasons, firstly my mother doesn't seem keen on me going, I'm not sure about living on my own, as I'm quite a introvented person and I don't really make friends easily. I'm concerned that not going to University might damage my career prospects. If I was to go to University, I would consider studying something like History or Business.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    First of all to put it bluntly, it isn't your mothers life its your life so if you want to go to university then you go to univeristy if you dont, then dont. Dont let other people try and dictate whether you can go or not.

    Second of all there will be a whole bunch of people at university there will be at least 1 person you will make friends with and if you are living in halls for the first year you wont be completely living on your own. There will be other people on your floor and depending on which uni you go to and if your halls are catered or not there will be schemes put in place if you cant cook. But if can cook then do because its going to be cheaper in the long run

    Finally, university is not the be all end all when it comes to getting a successful career. Its fully possible to have a great career without ever going to university
