iPhone vs Samsung, the dillema...

I have a Samsung at the moment, however I want to keep a phone for 3-5 years. The issue I have is storage space, Apple is only limited to 5GB on iCloud Backup, I have to pay to buy more, I would buy an 128GB iPhone but only 5GB would be saved, if the phone broke and didn't turn on then photos etc would be gone.

On the hand I have a Samsung Galaxy, now I've bought removable storage 128GB and I enjoy it as I could take my photos, even if my phone dies.

But apart from this I prefer iPhone, I'm stuck on what to do.

You can use Google Photos on both systems, so backing up should not be a problem.
